JOB OPENINGS:
JOB TITLE: IT Network Engineer
FLSA STATUS: This position is exempt under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act in relation to wage and hour regulations.
EDUCATION: This position requires a minimum of an associate’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems or a related field required. A bachelor’s degree and/or Network+ certificate is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate will have five or more years of experience working in an IT network, specifically related to internetworking and communication. Experience in programming switches and routers,
as well as working with Firewalls, is required.
KNOWLEDGE: Must have considerable knowledge of computer systems, office automation and computer
hardware and software applications. Must
have a working knowledge of local area and wide area networks, and knowledge of network and computer system security. Knowledge of TCP/IP networks, routing protocols, firewalls, routers, and servers is required. Must have a thorough
knowledge of first aid and CPR or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment. Must be willing to attend courses relating to his/her work area.
SKILLS: Must have the ability to install and maintain a variety of systems, network servers, and switches as well as other related hardware; install and maintain server and network software; troubleshoot difficult hardware and software problems; meet project deadlines; establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, employees, and vendors; describe complex technical systems in non-technical terms; and communicate effectively orally and in writing. Consistently shows the ability to recognize and deal with priorities on his/her own.
CONDITIONS: Work is generally performed in an office setting in a controlled environment. The noise level is low, and the work area is not crowded.
PHYSICAL: Work is often performed in awkward or uncomfortable positions involving stooping,
bending, reaching, and the handling of objects, tools or controls
REQUIREMENTS: Must occasionally work in confining spaces, hard to reach areas to install cables, etc. Specific vision includes close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

JOB TITLE: Network Engineer
Department: Information Systems
Reports To: Director of Information Technology
Position Function: Assists with providing effective operation
of the Cooperative’s Information Systems, user training, support, introduction and implementation of new technologies. Demonstrates strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, along with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) networks.
Essential Functions:
– Assists with coordinating the local area network (LAN) activities
– Assists with monitoring data communications network to ensure that
the network ism available to all system users and resolves data
communication problems
– Assists with the installation, configuring, and troubleshooting of wide
area computer networks (WAN) and associated assemblies
– Assists with programming and making changes to network switches
and ports
– Perform changes to network firewall as needed
– Maintains a professional demeanor as a representative of the Cooperative
– Maintains a clean and orderly workplace on company property or in
company vehicle
– Attends and participates in safety meetings, the annual meeting of
members, etc.
– Works in a safe manner in the office, and in substations or other
areas in the field
– Communicates using equipment provided by the cooperative in
accordance with FCC regulations, company regulations and policy
– Assists the operations department with device configuration and IoT
communications.
– Performs other duties assigned, including the replacement of other
personnel in their positions for short periods of time as required, and
responding to all help desk tickets, tier one and above
– Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including
routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices
– Configure and optimize network settings to ensure maximum
performance, reliability, and cybersecurity
– Monitors network traffic and email filter, responding to alerts using
software provided
– Monitor network performance and troubleshoot bandwidth
bottlenecks, network latency, and connectivity problems
– Perform routine maintenance tasks such as software updates,
patches, and firmware upgrades to network equipment
– Assist users with technical issues related to Apple and iOS devices
– Provide technical support and assistance to field technicians and
other staff in diagnosing and resolving network-related issues
– Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network
configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records
– Ensure network connectivity of all network devices.
– Performs troubleshooting and hardware maintenance on all company payment kiosks
